📧 Email Energetics for Projectors in Business

Projectors in Business, Human Design, Flodesk, Email

Those subscribed to the Projectors Invited newsletter will now I’m a huge fan of the medium of email in general, and specifically, Flodesk, my Email Service Provider of choice.

While email can be considered a cold medium (though a lovestruck late nineties Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks would vehemently disagree), I find it’s a *chef’s kiss* channel for Human Design Projectors in particular, and here’s why:

  1. As a Projector, I’m… tired. Hehe. No, but also true. As a Projector, I it is my priority to focus my energy only where it is invited.

  2. Building on that, as a Projector business owner (and one with no motors defined at that), I want to make sure that I have as big an impact with said energy as possible.

Why is that, you may ask? Well, if you’ve been around for any number of years, you’ll know that with me, it often comes back to aura. The Projector aura is a topic I could write a whole dissertation about (for now, though, you’ll have to content yourself with this instant download masterclass).

A little rusty on your aura game, and in the market for a quick refresher? Here’s what you need to know: The Projector aura is highly focused. Whereas, say, a Generator aura is more open, with a wide point of entry, ours is sharp and concentrated towards one singular point of focus. As such, we are best advised to be mindful of our aura and the dynamics we enter into in life and love and, especially, in business.

You see, when a Projector channels their attention in one specific direction – which, based on the underlying auric dynamics of the Projector type, we are designed to do – it’s… a lot. So as the bearer of the aura, we want to ensure that we wield its power wisely, because if we were to direct our auric focus where it is not welcome and where it has not been invited, it more often than not ends up being a lose-lose, where it’s wildly uncomfortable for the party on the other side, which then results in us promptly settling into a cosy abode on Bitterfield Drive for an open-ended timespan.

⭐ Your Aura = Your North Star

There’s barely been any podcast I have been on where I don’t end up talking about the Projector aura in business, and how to leverage it to make decisions that benefit your energetics, your clients and customers, and your bottom line. «Designing for the invitation», is what I call it.

As Human Design Projectors, we are at our most effective and impactful (and, umm, joyful) when a formal invitation has taken place before we go all in, offering advice, adding our two cents and giving feedback.

Now, how do we go about ensuring we use our auric focus to our advantage and avoid the oh-so-common Projector-specific pitfalls of fatigue and bitterness from leaking our energy in places it was never invited into?

Glad you asked! The way I (and hundreds of my Projector clients & students) do it is to take to email.

Enter Flodesk.

🧲 Design for le invitation

Building on everything we’ve established so far, as a Projector offering your brilliance to the world – whether that by providing a service or creating products to help make your people's lives better and easier – you essentially want to create an opportunity for your people to say an easy yes to you. You want to create a simple way for them to raise their hand and say «yep, over here, I’m interested in hearing more». And that, my sweet Projector child, we shall never leave up to chance.

Instead, we design for the invitation. By doing so, we prevent overwhelm in those on the receiving end, and we ensure that we keep our aura energetics tight. Always keep in mind the first rule of Fight Projector Club: Recognition first.

Practical application: It’ll take you no longer than ten minutes to set up a simple form on Flodesk using one of their stunning customisable templates. Once you have it, drop it in your Linktree, on your site and at the end of every blog post or other piece of valuable content you publish and offer your audience a straightforward way to say a formal (hell) yes to you.

✏️ Segmentation: A Tool for Thoughtfulness

Now that you have paved the way for people to add themselves onto your list – thereby specifically, formally and officially opting in to hearing from you, which, why yes, would be akin to you being invited to share – you’ll want to begin segmenting your list right away.

Segmentation is the act of taking a larger chunk and breaking it down into more manageable smaller chunks, essentially. Which you’ll want to be doing ASAP. Trust me on this. And don’t worry: Flodesk makes it really easy by giving you the option to add custom fields to your sign up forms.

Do you work with the Human Design system? Or maybe you’re an astrologer? Or a coach or practitioner specialising in mindfulness or bodywork? Why not ask your readers to add some pertinent information – such as their sun sign or aura type – at sign up so you can drop them in the according segment right away?

Because: The more information you can collect about your audience, the more thoughtful you can be with their time and energy. Say you come out with an offer specifically designed to benefit a certain subset of people – like, Projectors, or, maybe something even more specific, such as self-projected Projectors only! Wouldn’t it be neat if you could send out your marketing and sales emails to this group exclusively and not clog up the inboxes of those who aren’t being addressed this time around anyway?

That’s why we segment.

Practical application: Think of the information you would love to have about your people to enable you to be at your most thoughtful and helpful whenever you pop into their inbox. It’s less about just amassing random facts, but honing in on what will allow you to truly tailor your content to your audience in a way that is respectful of their time and energy, and, once again, ensures your auric focus is directed to the places it can actually land and be impactful. Create segments accordingly.

This is also a really lovely way enable you to pop an unexpected gift into someone’s inbox. In the above example of the astrologer, you could for example use the information to send out a useful downloadable PDF or maybe a short meditation for their sun sign once their birthday season hits. Imagine receiving an email with that level of personalisation and care… The opportunities to enchant are limitless.

💸 Easy Sales Success with Sales Pages and Checkouts

I specifically remember Ra, the messenger and creator of the Human Design system, saying that recognition, for a Projector, often comes in monetary form. Which is stellar news for you as a Projector business owner, because in order for your business (and you) to thrive, you must get paid.

Well, look no further: In addition to providing users with the most user-friendly interface I’ve seen (and I used to work in web publishing, so… I’ve been around the digital block) and enabling you to design and send the most gorgeous emails that will have everyone asking what you’re using – yes, there’s more! – Flodesk also offers the option of creating equally exquisite sales pages and checkouts using their customisable templates.

Practical application: As I always say, it’s our job as business owners to design a clear path for your clients and customers to walk along, and to take them by the hand and walk besides them. If you’ve found yourself putting a lot of time and energy into showing up and sharing valuable content, but then chickening out when it comes to sales, my hope is that having everything you need right at your fingertips within your Email Marketing Platform will nudge you to go outward with the products and services you have to share – and allow for an easy «add to cart» for your people, because you’ve done the work in the Flodesk back end to design that pathway for them.

💸 Give it a try (and get some $$ off!)

Using my code, you can give Flodesk a try at 50% off for your first year – this will get you unlimited emails and unlimited subscribers. Which is great news because it makes any shadow-y subconscious hang-ups that might arise about business growth («Ahh, but if I get to 20k subscribers I’ll have to pay how much!!??») a non-issue. Years ago when I made the switch to Flodesk, that was one of my main reasons for doing so, because while other ESPs may offer a free entry in the beginning, they can get extremely pricey quickly as your list grows, which, if you talk to the right people, use your aura responsibly – hehe – and focus on being helpful, it will.

💸 Join so many other Projector biz owners who gave Flodesk a try and LOVED IT.

And the best thing: You get a free trial month upfront, for which you don’t even need to put your credit card info down, so you can just give it a whirl for a month and see if it’s a good fit for you and your biz.

I hope this was helpful and illuminating – and I wish you so much fun experimenting with Flodesk. May it benefit you and your biz manifold.

And, shhh, if you use my affiliate link, keep an eye on your inbox for an email from me within the next few days with a little leg up to help get you started! After all. us non-sacrals are in this together.
